Some of the biggest changes in Wajinja can now be found in the simplest parts of everyday life.
Clean water is available throughout the village through a network of wells, tanks, and more than 250 spigots, bringing a reliable water source much closer to the homes and families who use it every day.
When the water project began more than a decade ago, collecting water could mean traveling miles each day to sources that were not always safe. Today, that infrastructure has become part of daily life in Wajinja, supporting everything from drinking and cooking to sanitation, agriculture, and the continued growth of the community.
It was one of the first major projects Ernie helped establish in Wajinja, and years later, its impact can be seen in moments as ordinary as filling a bucket just outside your doorstep.
A small moment that represents a much larger change in the infrastructure of Wajinja.
